The ENT Clinic is led by Paul Kirkland, MB BS, FRCS (Eng), FRCS (ORL-HNS), a Consultant ENT and Thyroid Specialist.
After qualifying at St. Thomas' Hospital Medical School, London in 1989, he underwent his specialist ENT training in London. He was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery and is on the General Medical Council's Specialist Register (GMC Number 3335534). Paul Kirkland undertook further specialist training in Head and Neck Surgery at The Royal Marsden Hospital and Thyroid/Parathyroid Surgery at The Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals. In 2003 he was awarded a Fellowship by The European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and trained at two centres of excellence in Europe. In 2005 he was appointed as an ENT Consultant for East Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust and works at both The Conquest and Eastbourne District General Hospitals.
Whilst Paul Kirkland treat all general ENT disorders, he has developed a particular interest and expertise in the management of conditions affecting the Thyroid, Parathyroid and Salivary glands and Facial plastic procedures.
Paul Kirkland has published a number of original articles in peer reviewed medical journals and has authored chapters in The European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery textbook. He is actively involved in training and teaching postgraduate doctors and GPs. He is also a member/fellow of the following professional bodies:
