An Adenoidectomy is required to remove enlarged adenoids when they block the nose
Adenoids are lymphoid tissue at the back of the nose. They usually shrink in size during adolescence
Adenoidectomy is performed under general anaesthetic.
The adenoids are removed through the mouth with a suction diathermy instrument. The diathermy probe shrinks the adenoids.
Most patients are able to go back to work within a few days of the operation.
